Air Asia X: Baggage Allowance and Related Policies
Air Asia X is a long-haul budgeted airline based in Malaysia. It started its operations on 2nd November 2007 from its first service from Kuala Lumpur International airport in Malaysia. This airline operates a fleet of 26 aircraft and has placed its orders for 76 more. The cost of the airlines is very low as it is based on the common ticketing system, employee uniforms, and style of management.
Baggage Allowance
Unlike other airlines, Air Asia X helps you to save charges by pre-booking your baggage online during the booking process. If the carried exact weight of the luggage is less than that of the pre-booked allowance the charges will not be refunded.
Cabin Baggage
- For the convenience of the travelers, each passenger is allowed one piece of cabin baggage along with one laptop or hand bang on-board. The dimensions of the main cabin baggage are56cm x 36cm x 23cm which should not be exceeded in any case. This baggage shall not be more than 7kg. The baggage should be of the kind that they can easily fit under the seat at your front or in the overhead compartment.
- The dimensions of the cabin bag include the wheels and the handles as well. Whereas, one small bag can be a laptop bag or a handbag of dimensions 40cm x 30cm x 10cm. The maximum permitted weight of 7kg is for both the bags together and the multiple items wrapped together shall be counted separately.
- For infants and kids below 2yrs of age, cabin baggage facility is not granted. Whereas, baggage allowance remains the same for children above 2 yrs of age.
- For safety reasons, certain restrictions have been imposed on the amount of liquid and gels to be carried in the cabin baggage.
Checked Baggage
- This checked baggage can be pre-booked with the airlines at the booking counter.
- The dimensions specified for checked baggage is 81cm x 119cm x 119 cm for height, width, and depth respectively and 32kg in weight.
- This baggage weight cannot be shared with the passengers with the same booking number.
- According to the policies, all the baggage should be checked in the airport 1 hr prior to the departure time.
- The guests carrying the baggage above the pre-booking allowance will be charged on the basis of kg, or else, guests can take additional 15kg baggage allowance at the booking counter.
These baggage policies help the passengers to make a pre-booking for the allowance to avoid the last minute hustle. One can easily plan a trip accordingly and pack all the basic necessities keeping in mind the allowance limit.
