Airnorth: Baggage Policy, Checked Baggage, and Check-In Policy

Airnorth is a regional airline that was founded in 1978. The airline has its headquarters in Darwin in Northern Territory in Australia. It is a part of the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA). The charter and scheduled services operated by this airline are in Victoria, Northern Territory, East Timor, Queensland, and Western Australia.  The airline has three fleets that include:

Embraer 170 Jet: Holding capacity of 76 travelers and four crew members.

Embraer 120 Brasilia: Holding capacity of 30 travelers and three crew members.

Metroliner 23: Holding capacity of 19 travelers and two crew members.

Airnorth serves 20 international and domestic destinations that includes Elcho Island, Gove, Bootu Creek, Katherine, Maningrida, Milingimbi, Groote Eylandt, McArthur River Mine, Tennant Creek, Darwin, Alice Springs, Townsville, Cairns, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Melbourne (Tullamarine), Dili, Truscott, Broome, Kununurra, and Broome.

Airnorth Airlines Baggage Policy

The quantity of hand baggage allowed by Airnorth’s baggage allowance depends on the aircraft that is being operated. In case of E170 jet plane, travelers are permitted to measure the weight of a bag must not exceed 9 kg and maximum dimensions are 56 x 36 x 23 cm.

In case of E120 Brasilia aircraft, hand baggage permitted decreases the weight to 4 kg.

Ultimately, in case of small Metroliner 23 aircraft, only small, soft handbags are permitted to be taken on board.

Checked Baggage

E170 Jet: 20kg

E120 and Metroliner: 13kg.

If the luggage is more than 13 kilograms on a small aircraft, then it can be acceptable. If the baggage exceeds 20 kg, the additional fee would be charged.

If one is traveling with an infant, he/she can also check the Stroller or carry basket, additional 10 kg check baggage besides your own allowance.

Airnorth Airline Check-In

Domestic Flights:

Travelers should check at least 60 minutes before departure of the flight.

Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure (excluding Melbourne Airport Terminal 4, check-in closes 45 minutes). After this time, no traveler would be allowed and no exception would apply.

International Flights:

Travelers must check-in at least 90 minutes before departure of the flight.

Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure. After this time, no traveler will be accepted and no exception would apply.
