Besides all the limitations related to the checked-in and carry-on baggage there are certain items that you are allowed or privileged to carry in every class and those are-

Limits & Allowances:

Just like any other big airline company, the Singapore Airlines has set some baggage limits and the limits or restrictions regarding to the maximum dimension accordingly (lxbxh cm) i.e. (40 cm x 30 cm x 10 cm).

If any how, the sum of dimension exceed 80 cm, then it is counted under the baggage allowance of standard cabin.

In that case, you will be required to check-in your cabin bag either or your additional item.

Singapore Airlines Excess Baggage: 

If the flyer has the issued ticket by Singapore Airline then, in order to avail the discounted rates up to 20% for the excess baggage just by pre-purchasing excess baggage services online.

Also, if your itinerary is not including the USA, then pre-purchasing option for the excess baggage is applicable for you but in blocks of 5 kg and it is flexible up to the max. limit 100 kg/flight.

But for the passengers traveling to and from USA, mentioned below are the excess bag options for you:

• You can carry-up to 2 additional bag-pieces for free/excess baggage allowance.
• You can take your oversized baggage under the excess/free baggage allowance.

Singapore Airlines Prohibited Items:

As per the Singapore Airlines baggage allowance, following is the list of prohibited items:

• Compressed gases; for example butane, propane, lighter fuels, etc.
• Lighters
• Explosives, fireworks, Christmas crackers, sparklers, etc.
• Flammable liquids such as paints
• Oxidizing substances like bleaching powder and peroxides
• Disabling devices such as pepper sprays or mace
• Radioactive materials
• Flammable solids for e.g. safety matches and articles
• Corrosive materials e.g. mercury, acids, alkali, and wet cell batteries
• Meals-Ready-to-Eat
• Poisons such as arsenic, insecticides or cyanide
• Ammunition
• Firearms or parts of a firearm such as revolvers, rifles, etc.

Restricted Items:

• Carrying any bladed or sharp-edged objects like swords, knives and pocket scissors and knives and also knitting needles is completely illegal and prohibited by the airlines.
• Any other lethal weapon stun gun, nan-chucks and whips, nan-chakus are totally restricted.
• Any item related to the sports like cricket bats, baseball, hockey sticks, golf clubs, etc. are also restricted.
• Any device with spillable batteries are also restricted to carry on-board.
• Carrying any liquid items like aerosols e.g.- perfumes, deo-sprays, hair-spray and the medicines with alcohol content should be under the restricted carriage limit i.e. 0.5ltr /0.5 kg per item and the total weight of 2ltr/2kg.
• Every type personal devices which are powered by lithium battery used for transportation such as air wheel, mini-Segway hover board, solo wheel, etc. are completely prohibited .
• In case you are carrying medicine, then you are supposed to carry certain supporting documents for your prescription such as an ID card or maybe a letter from the concerned physician for the airport verification process.
• E-cigarettes or vaporizers are only allowed in the carry-on baggage and items like these are prohibited all the time in the checked baggage

Traveling With Pets:

Some of the breeds of dogs and cats which are three-month-old or over it  are permitted to travel with the Singapore Airlines.

Pets as Checked Baggage:

Well, the services of pet travel are only available for selected airports because this requires advanced arrangements. Also, you need to intimate the travel agent of your airline at least two-weeks in advance.

Pets and the containers which carries your pets will be considered as excess/free baggage and thus fees for excess baggage fees will be applied.

Baggage Allowance While Traveling With Infants:

Passengers flying with their infants are given some special allowance as they allowed to carry on-board fee-free food for your infant and care items whose limit is up to 6 kg max.

If the infant will fly on your lap, check the following charges criteria:

• Piece concept: In case you are traveling from/to USA, then, one piece of the baggage not exceeding the dimensional limit158 cm and the maximum weight limit is 23 kg for Premium Economy & Economy class and 32 kg for First and Business class & Suites
• Weight concept: If not traveling from/to USA then10 kg of baggage on  every flight.
• Other than all this, a collapsible stroller/any infant carrier may be checked without any fee for the travelers with infants.
