Trivandrum International Airport

The international airport i.e., the Trivandrum International Airport handles the cities like Neyyatinkara, Kanyakumari, Pathanamthitta, Chenganoor, Punalur, Attingal, Nagercoil, Thiruvalla, Varkala in Kerala. There is a large number of tourist attractions in Thiruvananthapuram, also known as Trivandrum and that makes this airport one of the busiest airports in India. This airport has a great significance in Kerala, since it was the first airport to get established in Kerala. In 1991, the Trivandrum International Airport became the fifth international airport of India.

Terminals:

The Trivandrum has 2 terminals i.e., Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Terminal 1: This terminal serves the domestic flights only. Terminal 1 can function for more than 400 passengers at a given time.

Terminal 2: This terminal handles the domestic flights by Air India and serves the international flights as well. This completely air-conditioned terminal has the facility of Wi-Fi for its passengers. Terminal 2 of the airport has an elegant structure with the extensive use of glass roofing.

Road: This international airport is connected to National Highway and therefore, is connected to the city. Vizhinjam International Seaport is also linked with this airport.

Rail: The nearest railway station to the airport is Kochuveli railway station. The station is about 5 km away and is also linked with the Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station. One of the striking features of these railway stations is that the stations provide connectivity to different parts of India.

Buses: There are many buses which fairly connects the Trivandrum Airport to various parts of the city. Kerala State Road Transport Corporation takes care of all the connections between the airport to East Fort, Kochi, and some other areas.
