Vistara Ceased Air India Confirms After Official Merge

Air India Chief Campbell Wilson announced that the full-fledged service provider air carrier Vistara will officially merge with Air India. So if you were thinking of buying a cheap air ticket to India from the Vistara, then there is quite a disappointment as the airline discontinues as a brand but you can book flight tickets via Air India.

Air India, a Tata-owned group air carrier will discontinue Vistara. Recently, a merger was completed between Air India and Vistara Airline. The Airlines’ chief executive and managing director declared in the media interview that they would cease the brand named Vistara as they had merged with Air India. This means instead of purchasing USA to India flight tickets from Vistara, you can refer to Air India. However, Campbell Wilson confirmed that the Vistara Airline will continue to make efforts to preserve “Vistara heritage in the new manifestation”. So the fanbase of Vistara does not have to worry.

Air India has been working to revamp the Airline and reported Vistara Airline will discontinue and merge with them. Meanwhile, AirAsia India Airline (AIX Connect) is also planning the integration with Air India Express. Basically, the intent is to own a full-fledged airline and low-cost airline in the entire group. Now, the full-service airline will have a combination of Air India and Vistara. This indicates more flights from USA to India and that too at a reasonable price.

In the aviation industry, Vistara owns a powerful and recognized place, especially in the Indian market. On the contrary, Air India has recognition outside the country with its 90-year history. So you do not have to worry at all to book a cheap air ticket to India.

In November 2022, Tata Group and Singapore Airlines also announced a merger between Air India and Vistara. In regard to this merger, Singapore Airlines would hold 25.1 percent of the merged entity and the completion of this merger is expected by March 2024. At present, the merger procedure is still under process and striving for final approval from the Competition Commission of India. Tata group at present owns a 51 percent stake share in Vistara and the remaining share is with Singapore Airlines. For the time being, It placed the biggest aircraft order in global aviation history which is remarkable.
