Prime minister Narendra Modi visited San Francisco. Apart from meeting all the greatest minds behind the new-age business, Narendra Modi made a very special announcement. Moreover, it was about direct flights to San Francisco from New Delhi. The direct flight to San Francisco will be run by Air India from 2nd December 2015, thrice a week.
San Francisco’s Mayor Ed Lee commenting on the announcement, said that he is pleased to welcome Air India to San Francisco. This is after the productive visit by the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi.
Also, he added that this is an excellent effort of creating first-ever direct flight from New Delhi to San Francisco by Air India, uniting two great economic and cultural centers of the world, and he wishes this project a great success in the future.
Air India will begin this great project by launching its first direct flight between San Francisco and New Delhi on December 2, 2015, with a total of 3 flights per week, i.e. On Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, using Boeing 777 extended-range aircraft.
Commenting on this, Airport’s Director John L Martin expresses his excitement about the selection of SFO route in the US, by Air India. He further added that this service would establish their Airport as the premier gateway to Asia and the subcontinent. Also, it will provide an unparalleled level of global access to their guests.
This new direct flight by Air India makes San Francisco the fourth American city served by the airline after New York, Newark, and Chicago. Also, the Booing 777-200LR aircraft that will be used for this project has a seating capacity of about 238 passengers. It consists of a 195 economy class, 35 business class, and eight first-class seats.
To boost up bookings on the newly launched Delhi- San Francisco flights, National Carrier has whole incentives.
In this, Business class flight passengers will get complimentary executive class Return Tickets on Air India’s domestic network. Moreover, passengers will pay all the applicable taxes. The passenger may give an award airline ticket to any of his nominees, quoted by the Airline.
