Relaunching flights to Kolkata
Etihad Airways has marked a fresh chapter in its development intentions as it relaunches operations in Kolkata, India.
From 26 March 2023, the airline will fly daily on the Abu Dhabi – Kolkata route for passengers booking cheap flight tickets to Kolkata, delivering a total of seven weekly nonstop trips to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU).
An Airbus A320 aircraft will fly the flights, providing customers with Etihad’s award-winning business class flight service in eight Business Class seats and 150 Economy seats.
Etihad Airways Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Cargo, Martin Drew said that “With Etihad Airways continuing to strengthen our network, restarting daily flights to this critical gateway gives up even more connectivity to the Indian Subcontinent for our passengers.”
New Daily Nonstop Flight Service to Kolkata from Abu Dhabi
On Thursday, the Gulf airline also announced plans to operate a daily flight service from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata beginning March 26, 2023, for a total of seven weekly nonstop routes to the City of Joy. According to a press statement, the flights will be conducted with an Airbus A320 aircraft, with 8 seats in business class and 150 seats in economy class.
Beginning early next year, Etihad Airways wants to extend its flight network in India by adding new routes to Ahmedabad, Chennai, Cochin, and Delhi. On Thursday, the Gulf airline also announced plans to introduce a daily flight service from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata beginning March 26, 2023, for a total of seven weekly nonstop flights to the City of Joy.
Furthermore, from March 26, 2023, Cochin will have an extra 6 flights per week, for a total of 13 flights per week.
Etihad’s Expansion in India and Environmental Initiatives
An extra daily service to Delhi and Mumbai will launch from April 24 of next year.
The reintroduction of flights to Kolkata, as well as frequency increases on other routes, would dramatically boost Etihad’s footprint in India, from 77 to 118 weekly flights, according to the spokeswoman.
Etihad clients may offset their trips with the airline’s green reward program when flying with the Environmental Airline of the Year. Conscious Choices rewards travelers with Tier Miles and other advantages in exchange for carrying less luggage and mitigating their flights’ carbon emissions with Etihad Guest Miles.
