Air India Plans to Fly Direct bw Bengaluru & San Francisco by October End

Most non stop flights from USA to India and vice versa are operated by Air India, which continues to fly over Russian territory to facilitate this. Tata-owned Air India will connect Bengaluru and San Francisco, two of the world’s leading tech hubs, with direct flights starting at the end of October. In the upcoming winter schedule, Air India will begin a twice-weekly best travel offers on nonstop service between the two cities.

United Airlines postponed the proposed Bengaluru-San Francisco trip due to the absence of western carriers flying across Russian airspace. This is why Air India took the initiative. The same reason is causing the current delay in the proposed Bengaluru-Seattle nonstop flights by American Airlines.

When Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal visited the West Coast earlier this month (September 2022), some American businesspeople of Indian descent raised the concern of a lack of direct access to the Bengaluru-San Francisco route as one that is in high demand.

Air India still travels over Russian airspace, enabling its planes to travel the quickest path feasible, making it the largest operator of non stop flights from USA to India and vice versa. The carrier recently disclosed that it would be leasing five Boeing 777 long-range (LR) aircraft. Between December 2018 and March 2023, these ex-Delta aircraft will join the AI fleet. Once these planes are a part of Air India’s fleet, Bengaluru will have three flights per week to San Francisco.

The Tata Group-owned airline Air India announced on September 12 that it would be increasing its fleet by more than 25% by leasing 30 Boeing and Airbus aircraft. “Air India is happy to resume expanding its fleet and worldwide reach after a long period lacking substantial growth,” stated Air India’s Chief Executive.
