U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services recently announced details about the security upgrade to the Green Card and EAD redesigns. They will issue new cards starting January 30, 2023.

The back and forth of the new Green Card design retains highly secure stereographic and kaleidoscopic images with visually intensified variable ink. Additionally, the safety upgrades of Green Card redesign 2023 incorporate an uncloaked layer along with a partial window on the back photo.

USCIS clarification

USCIS clarified that ushering in the new designs doesn’t steer the existing cards nullified. In lieu, the existing card will perdue its validation till its expiration date. As USCIS continues to use the old cardstock and supplies until they are finished, some Permanent Resident cards and EADs may have the old design even though they were issued after the redesign launch on January 30. For Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification), E-Verify, and Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE), both designs of the card, new or old will be authorized.

There are several Green Cards of an old design that doesn’t have any expiration date.
