From the End of March, India Will Resume Regular International Flights

After two years of the COVID Pandemic, India is finally ready to start regular international flights again from Mach 27 onwards. Many people are happy with this decision since the airline tickets & flight deals to India had increased exponentially in cost, and the flights for international travel were limited.

When the COVID cases started rising in India, then the Indian Government declared suspension on all commercial flights and their services on March 23, 2020, until further notice. Indian Government started some special flights to bring back Indians stuck on foreign lands during the global lockdown period under the Vande Bharat Mission.

After that, only limited flights were flying under the Air Bubble flight agreements. Air Bubble agreement is a special agreement between two countries that allows flights to fly from and to those countries but with special safety protocols and heavy restrictions. The fare of flights also became too expensive with it. Currently, India has air bubble flight agreements with 32 countries, including the USA, UK, France, the UAE, etc.

Earlier, the Indian Government planned to restart daily international flights from December 15, 2021, onwards. Still, the rising cases of the Omicron variant made the Indian Government change its plans and postpone this decision till further notice. The Government again imposed more strict restrictions to keep the Omicron variant from spreading.

The Indian Health Ministry loosened up the restrictions for foreign travelers with their revised traveling guidelines on February 14, 2022. With the new guidelines, the health ministry of India put a stop to seven days of home quarantine after arrival in India. Also, there is no need to go for the mandatory RT-PCR test that was needed after completing seven days of quarantine. Now, either you can submit a negative RT-PCR report taken 72 hours before the flight or upload your certificates of double vaccination at the Air Suvidha portal. These guidelines are released on mutual agreement with 82 countries.

Luckily, the cases are falling at comforting rates, and the situation from the COVID Pandemic seems to be getting back to normal now. Thus, the Indian Government plans to bring back the old days of international traveling. The restrictions and guidelines on travel will be minimized, and you’ll be able to book international flights at reasonable rates again.
