Present-day, airlines have imposed several new rules and policies for carrying pets on-board. Also, these new policies include the safeguards regarding the pets that would be traveling with you.
But with so many airline options available these days, it’s a bit hard to generalize these policies as they vary from airline to airline.
For instance, few airlines no longer allow the pets for flying in the cargo. However, there are some airlines that do allow pets carriage in the plane’s cabin, if they are small enough to fit under the front seat. Some of them don’t allow at all.
So, if you love traveling by Delta Air Lines then, here are Delta Air Lines pet policies.
Read on to know it all!
Carry-on Pet Requirements
If you wish traveling with pets as your carry-on luggage then here are the rules that you should keep in mind while traveling.
- Firstly, the pet-cage should fit under the seat space in front of you.
- Secondly, the pet cage should leak-proof and should have a proper room for ventilation. Also always confirm the under-seat dimension of your aircraft.
- Thirdly, here Delta Air Lines is being discussed so to know & confirm the maximum carry-on pet-cage dimensions contact your Delta Reservations, else you can contact the concerned airlines for better assistance.
- Make sure the door is properly locked and the pet should remain inside his pet cage while on-board, in a Delta boarding area or Delta airport lounge.
- The pet should be 10 weeks old at the minimum for domestic travel.
- If you are traveling to the U.S from other parts of the world then the pet should be 16 weeks old and at least 15 weeks old to travel with European Union travel.
- If the pet is traveling as part of carry-on baggage, the pet -fee still applies.

a). Only 1 female dog/cat can travel with her off-springs that are 10 weeks to 6 months old.
b). The number of offspring-carriage has no-limit.
Exception– The same-breed pets or same-size pets aging between 10 weeks to 6 months are allowed to travel in the one pet cage if they are small enough to fit in one pet-cage and are compatible. They will be charged and counted as one.
