Lufthansa Revises Check-in Baggage Policy for Economy Flights Between North America and India

Travel with as little luggage as possible or pay for check-in bags on international flight tickets from USA to India or visa versa from now on. To support their worldwide activities, airlines are passing on the brunt of high as can-be airfares to travelers and concocting arrangements to amplify income from movement-related administrations or conveniences. One of them is check-in baggage; aircraft are controlling the opportunity of economy fliers going with two free check-in bags considering the stream fuel cost rise and its effect on working overheads.

As the overseas traveler who has booked Lufthansa flights to US from India, or is traveling to India from the USA, Canada, or Mexico, the traveler will now have to pay for checking in more than one sack in the economy class. Successful from August 2022, Lufthansa’s check-in baggage strategy for economy trips from India to USA or Canada or visa versa is restricted to one pack of up to 23 kg.  from August 1, the German transporter will charge economy voyagers for a second check-in bag.

Purportedly, checking in the second pack of up to 23 kg on Lufthansa’s economy trips between North America and India will cost €200 (US$ 206) whenever booked ahead of time or through the website. It is €250 (US$ 257) assuming that you pay for the extra piece of check-in baggage at the air terminal. It implies that from now onwards, the expense of flying economy between Canada/USA and India i.e on flight tickets from USA to India or from India to USA or Canada goes up by USD 206 to 260 in the event that you want to check in a piece of second luggage on Lufthansa.

Lufthansa Airlines’ new check-in luggage allotment policy for the economy fights is applicable to other airlines that come under the Lufthansa Group like Brussels Airlines, Swiss International Airlines, and Australian Airlines. If the travelers have booked flight tickets to India from North America (USA, Canada, Mexico) or the flight tickets from USA to India were booked before 31st July 2022 then the received strategy for the luggage rules is not applicable to them.

However, the policy of Lufthansa Airlines for a business class flight from USA to India remains unaltered. The Lufthansa Group airlines’ revision of the checking luggage policy for the economy class is analogous to the policy followed by United Airlines, Air Canada, and American Airlines. The free baggage allowance of these airlines is limited to one bag for economy class passengers.

This policy gives an edge to their competitor airlines like Middle East Airlines and Air India who are renowned and chosen by passengers for their non stop flights from USA to India and their munificent check-in baggage limit.
