3) Portree, Isle of Skye, Scotland

The Isle of Skye is famous for its subtle beauty and natural scenery, but few people realize it contains one of the United Kingdom’s charming little towns.

The capital city is situated on the edge of Loch Portree with cute colorful houses and pubs along with floating fishing and lobster boats on the outside harbor.

4) Giethoorn, Netherlands

Also known as the Venice of Netherlands, this cute village has no roads, only bike lanes and canals. Roam around Giethoorn’s roof farmhouses and its characteristic wooden arch bridges by the boats available there.

You can even ice skate on the canals during the cold winter season. You can also visit the thatched farms on the many peat islands.

Don’t forget to catch a delicious lunch or dinner at one of the many delicious restaurants located by the waterway’s edge.

5) Hallstatt, Austria

Hallstatt is something really special and you’ll feel it when you arrive there by ferry. After traveling over glassy mirror- like lakes and with mists enveloping the surrounding areas as they come down from the lofty Dachstein mountains.

Hallstatt, a UNESCO World Heritage town, boasts churches dating back to the 12th century.

It has a bustling, lively marketplace bursting with the energy of people and so many tiny candle- lit restaurants to deepen your romance.

Also check out the local sites of salt production that dates back to pre- historic times. It also is great for fishing and boating as well.

6) Hvar, Croatia

Hvar is one of the country’s most renowned islands for sunbathers, and popular among connoisseurs of wine.

Sunny beaches, lush vineyards, and lavender fields fill this island. Hvar has a beautiful city center with car-free marble streets and Gothic palaces.

The island promotes itself as “the sunniest spot in Europe”, with over 2715 hours of sunlight in an average year.
