New rules and sanitization of airlines during COVID-19 pandemic

The year of 2020 dawned with a rapid spread of Coronavirus across countries, worldwide. Despite the ceaseless efforts of scientists and researchers, there is no licensed medication to cure COVID-19 up until now, according to the WHO. Many countries had refrained taking-in foreign tourists because of the dire time and urgent precautions.

With the upliftment of the imposed lockdown because of COVID-19, the situation is not expected to improve much, but the airports are to be resumed and the flights had to be started. The Ministry of Home Affairs. India has clearly stated that the international flight resumption will be discussed in July 2020.

You might board cheap flights to India from the USA now as the Government, and the airport authorities are collectively making necessary preparations to strictly establish the fundamental preventive measures at the airports and in flights to reduce the risk of developing and spreading the COVID-19 virus among the travelers.

There will be a pre-boarding body temperature screening of the passengers, which will strictly be administered using contactless temperature detection equipment and a thorough observation of apparent symptoms. In case any passenger is suspected of having the symptoms, he/she should be immediately handed to the medical team and should not be allowed to board the flight.

Guidelines to the crew members include-

1. We issued strict advice to crew members, instructing them to wear masks close to their faces and cover their noses and mouths completely. If you need to sneeze or cough, please lower your head or turn away from passengers and nearby individuals and cover your nose and mouth.

2. In avoidable situations, avoid touching the outer layer of the mask with bare hands as it may increase the risk of contamination. If you need to remove the mask, immediately replace it with a new one after successfully disposing of the used mask and sanitizing your hands properly.

3. Instruct crew members to replace the existing mask with a new one at least once every 4 hours. They should also avoid touching their noses, eyes, and mouths with bare hands. If touched, they should immediately wash hands or sanitize.

4. We advise crew members to minimize frequent visits to the cockpit and utilize intercom systems for communication to prevent contact. They should make use of exclusive lavatory and must try to make its usage minimum.

5. The crew members should avoid gathering for meals or in-flight services and must not dine together. They also need to thoroughly disinfect or sanitize their hands before and after using their protective equipment.

6.If any crew member exhibits symptoms such as fever, dry cough, cold, tastelessness, or fatigue, the airline must relieve them from duty and place them in the quarantine area to prevent contact with passengers and other crew members. Allow them to use only the rear lavatory.

7. Before crew members contact or serve any ill passengers or deal with suspicious or COVID-19 contaminated substances, materials, or areas, such as excretions, vomit, blood, disposals, or mobs, they should wear personal protective equipment to avoid exposing themselves to any contaminated materials.

Guidelines for the in-flight services include-

1. During aviation, crews should clean the lavatory once every two hours at most or immediately after passengers use it up to ten times.

2. Before and after preparing and serving the meals, the crew must disinfect their hands to avoid contamination. We should provide normal food items and discourage serving cold food items and edible ice-cubes. We highly suggest providing pre-packaged meals.

3. Arrange passenger seating with the last three seats reserved for quarantine purposes in case of aviation emergencies. The rear lavatory should only be accessible to those under quarantine.

4. We should make passengers sit, ensuring there is a minimum of one empty seat between two passengers.

5. In high-risk flights, the crew receives instructions to serve in a designated area and make an effort to offer only the necessary services to passengers, while avoiding any close contact.

6. Before and after completing every flight, the airline must perform routine cleaning and sanitization to prevent the spread of any infectious substance.

With days passing, the International flights are preparing hard by adopting every possible preventable measure to present a safe and healthy travel experience to the passengers who wish to book flights from the USA to India soon.

So, if you are planning a visit to India during this COVID-19 pandemic, rest assured about your safety during the air travel and practice safe and healthy life conducts if you wish to travel abroad. We wish you happy and safe traveling.
