What did India’s Country Manager for Virgin Atlantic have to say about the flight schedule?
Shivani Singh Deo, India’s Country Manager for Virgin Atlantic, stated that this adjustment is designed to align with morning departures from Heathrow to the United States. The coordination aims to offer smoother connections for travelers heading to the US.
Current connection with transit passengers departing from their flights from Mumbai
At present, the situation is that Virgin has a 10.35 a.m. morning flight which oversees departure from Mumbai and London. However, only about 30% of passengers on this route are transit fliers, continuing their journey beyond London. Shivani Singh Deo notes that this new flight is expected to see a higher rate of transit fliers from 30% to 80%. This change will be seen due to its flight timing.
Current situation with transit passengers departing from their flights from Delhi and Bengaluru
Quite similarly, the departing morning flight from Delhi has approx. 20% transit fliers. But the night flight arriving in London early in the morning sees 55 to 60% of passengers going somewhere further than their flight departure. When it comes to Bengaluru, the percentage of fliers going onwards from their intended journey is 60%. And most of them are going towards the USA.
Wrapping up with a necessary conclusion
